Following up a tip from Marc Ribaudo, I visited Metz Wetlands this morning from
dawn to about 10AM to check out the Willow Flycatcher[s] at the blind that Marc
thought might be nesting. At least one was very vocal 9-9:30. Two were seen at
the same time and had the same coloring. At one point they were chasing. One
was heard singing while the other (in view) stayed silent. I presume both were
Willow FC. The main highlight was not a bird (sorry). As I was getting ready to
leave, a Gray Fox (first I've ever seen) crossed the path at the benches
heading toward the road.
