During what I expected as a long, quiet walk on an overcast day:
"fitzbew"...."keckkeckkeckkeck" (clapper?)....a long-winged, brown-backed
raptor harrying away from the parking lot....the languid, danceable ballad
version of the yellowthroat song....a bobwhite flushed, a bobwhite
calling....the simple beauty of a prothonotary warbler....more than adequate
evidence of a large, well-fed fox population....a chat playing an off-tune
one-note harmonica....&, last but least, a pun to be used only during grackle
migration w/ tolerant friends: " Stop, there's some gracko-roamin' rustling."
