[va-bird] PW Kites June 12 pm update

0800 saw one kite in the dead tree they used to perch in regularly.
0900-1300 went to be a soccer dad so nothing to report.
1400-1500 Pleased to report there was one kite soaring in the vicinity.
Nothing after that seen by me, but there were other birders about.
I believe the heydey of guaranteed kite spotting on my court has passed. If
you are willing to come and sit for awhile you may see a passing one.
Opinions tossed about today is that they've possibly settled down into a nest,
but not the one they were building near my house. Makes sense to me, because
they seem to still be in the area, but where is yet to be determined.
Being a teacher on summer break, I might make finding their nest my "summer
hobby."
I've always liked my street, but maybe the Kites didn't. The resident nesting
Red-Shouldereds and Crows weren't as welcoming as me and my neighbors.
If I don't post, that means I haven't seen them.
Thanks again for the great manners of all the visitors. You've converted some
neighbors, and I've enjoyed meeting all of you. Frankly, this event caused me
to meet some of my own neighbors as well, people that I've lived near for 10+
years and never met.
Jim
