[va-bird] Bobwhite in Arlington

The last bird I expected to add to my yard list in south Arlington was
Bobwhite, but when I took the trash out this morning (c.7:45am) I heard one
singing from a backyard a few houses down. It's certainly not going to
stick around to breed, but I understand it's not unusual for Bobwhites to
wander at this time of year. Surprisingly, it wasn't an Arlington bird
though, as a few years ago I saw one fly across Rt. 110 towards Arlington
Cemetery.

I live on S. 18th St., between Grant and Fern (Pentagon/Crystal City area).
I left for the day so I don't know if it's still around (not to mention that
it rained all day), but others may want to keep an ear out for it.

Good birding,

Paul Pisano

Arlington, VA
