Hi Va birders

I had a bird at the feeder this afternoon with a lightly streaked/
finchy breast, light eye line over the eye (not through it), large beak
and dark wing bar. It was nothing usual. I thought finch and then
thought juvenile ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK in view of the many that came
through late April and early May. Of course, Sibley and Peterson showed
nothing that matched up.

I am 50-80 miles east of Sibley's range map but with the large numbers
this spring I thought it was worth a head's up.

Good birding,

John
