[va-bird] Yellow-throated warbler, prothonotaries @ Mason Neck SP

Hello, all you Va-Birders who feel you somehow missed out on a lot of
good warblers this season. Not to worry. Just yesterday at Mason Neck
State Park I was seranaded for 20 minutes by a yellow-throated warbler
high in a tree near the part where the boardwalk crosses over the big
pond. Also, in approximately the same area, got to see up close and
personal a pair of prothonotary warblers flittling around what I presume
to be a nest cavity; and a first-year male orchard oriole was competing
with the yellow-throated for best singer category.
Earlier in the day, just downriver from there at Occoquan NWR I saw a
yellow warbler, a little flock of cedar waxwings, heard distinctly a
willow flycatcher, and was surprised by a little flock of very ruddy
ducks in the water just below the gazebo. Great day and the weather was
perfect! (for me ) --Immature eagles were everywhere. (well, one for each
park, anyway)
