[va-bird] Oh Baby! Pileated that is!

Hi VAbirders,

We got our first glimpse of a 2003 baby Pileated today. It's a boy! He
was hanging on the side of our Tupelo tree as one of his parents visited
our suet feeder. The parent bird flew off before I could see which one it
was. Looks like Mrs. P and Klutzy have had another successful breeding
season. It's good to know Mrs. P still has what it takes, since we're
guessing she's well past middle age for a Pileated. Will let you know if
we see any others. Last year's crop of 3 kids, 2 females/1 male, first
appeared on 6/11/02, so the Pileated family is pretty much on schedule.
