My family is taking the plunge and acting on a long-held desire to visit
Belize this winter. We are going with another family. We already have
reservations for 4 days at Chan Chich. The plan is to spend another 4 days "at
the
beach." Does anyone have any recommendations about places to stay? Basic
requirements: kid (ages 5-8) friendly, not too difficult to get to, easy access
to
good snorkeling, birds (duh!). Beautiful setting and accommodations, wonderful
service, and good value would be nice too, while I'm being greedy.
Also, any intelligence about about the trip would be appreciated. What is
the best field guide? Are the checklists helpful? Which one? Any tapes/CDs
highly recommended? Anything else we should know?
