[va-bird] Loudoun County farms & Upland Sandpiper question

For some reason it didn't rain this morning (Sunday, 6/8), so I headed up to
Loudoun County Parkway and the Lucketts area. Favorite sightings were:
* Northern Bobwhite - saw him running along 661 just north of Hibler Road.
After about 30 seconds of waddling, he left the road and started singing.
* Vesper Sparrow - one was singing on Hibler road, just over the crest of the
first hill. It was on a small "island" of shrubs on the left side of the road.
* Blue Grosbeak - near the end of Hibler Road, near a small tractor shed on the
right side of the road. He didn't sing, but perched on the telephone wire long
enough for a nice look.
* Horned Lark - heard one singing (didn't see it) on the east side of Loudoun
County Parkway, just up the hill from the one-lane bridge.
Both of these areas had Kestrels, Eastern Meadowlarks, Grasshopper Sparrows and
Willow Flycatchers.
By the way, I read in Claudia Wilds' book that Lucketts is a good location for
Upland Sandpipers. Have they been seen there in recent years, or is this just
another one of those, "You should have been here back in '94..." stories?
