[va-bird] huntley--mississippi kites

today june 6, 2003 I observed 2 adult Mississippi kites at huntley meadows.
i observed the kites from the raised platform on the boardwalk loop, the
kites
were flying mainly to the east near the radio tower behind the wood tower,
also to the southeast and south, from 10:00 to 10:30 and off and on from 10:30
to 11:30.
the kites were seen flying above the trees (never perched) foraging in the
air.
the kites were always over the woods and never came real close.
