[va-bird] Mississippi Kite at Huntley Meadows, FFX Co.

Today, after a dental appointment, I swung over to Huntley for a
"quickie", and since I was informed by some birders that they had seen a
"Purple finch nest" (I know, I know, but stranger things have been seen.)
back off the informal trail adjacent to Barnyard Run, I decided to try
and find it. Well, I never located any nest hole at all (did hear a
house finch singing), but while I was back there, I noticed a raptor
gliding around over the swamp, and as I studied it, it became more and
more obvious that it was a kite, the white head being the clincher. This
occured at about 12:30 p.m.
Cheers,
Edna Aaron
