[va-bird] Late BAY-BREASTED WARBLER

While fishing today, and after spending time looking for a possible
Golden-winged Warbler nest, I heard the song of a BAY-BREASTED
WARBLER.
Although I had my doubts (datewise), I heard it again about 20 minutes later in
the exact same spot. I was never able to see the
bird, although (as typical), the sound came from the canopy of a stand of tall
trees. The other thing to remember is, this is pretty
high country (near the WV border).
According to the Peterson Guide (Dunn & Garrett), and other reference books, no
such bird should be in Virginia on this date.
However, after getting back to my car, and playing the CD for a memory jog, I
have no doubt about what I heard. Judge it as you
will.
For anyone interested, it was at a spot along Paddy Run, in SW Frederick Co.
ADC Map directions: Frederick Co. Map 29 - F2 (north
side, right before the road crosses the creek).
Be aware: this is a walk-in only road, about 1.5 miles from any parking area..
