At least two chats were singing Sunday morning in the Woodcock Meadow.
Otherwise, it was a windy and quiet morning at Huntley. I had exactly two
definite passage migrants: a pair of yellow-rumps. There were excellent
numbers of yellowthroats (20+) and good numbers of buntings (10+).
For the Fairfax County count on Saturday, I birded Sully Woodlands with my
daughter. It was pretty slow. Highlights included at least 4 gobblers,
blue-winged warbler, and grasshopper sparrows. Later, I found an early
GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH near White Oaks Park in Hollin Hills.
