[va-bird] Monticello Park, Friday 5/4 evening

I visited Monitcello Park (with my Mom who is in town for a birding weekend
visit) this evening from ~6:20pm - 7:45pm. The park was fairly quiet, save for
the RED BELLIES and BLUE JAYS. Our first bird of the evening walk was a
NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH (which we observed several times in the stream after
that). Several YELLOW RUMPED WABLERS were seen (as expected), and at least one
SWAMP SPARROW.
The highlights were a NASHVILLE WARBLER (2nd sighting ever!) out in the open on
a tree branch over the creek for ~5 seconds, and soon after in a nearby low
tree, great looks at my first WORM-EATING WARBLER! A male and female BLACK
THROATED BLUE WABLER were also spotted (separately).
Audible highlight was the most beautiful song of a VEERY echoing in the trees.
We did also see a VEERY, HERMIT THRUSH, & a WOOD THRUSH.
Happy Spring evening!
