There must have been a big push of thrushes last night, because I
found 2-3 Veeries and 4-5 Hermit Thrushes along with the singing Wood
Thrushes in one woods area near my house this morning. There was also
a huge Yellow-rumped Warbler flock, with a few others mixed
in--Chestnut-sided, Black-throated Blue, Black-throated Green, and
elsewhere, Yellow, Palm, Ovenbird, and Yellowthroat.
Heard Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Blue-headed Vireo, Scarlet Tanager, many
male Baltimore Orioles chasing each other--56 species in 2.5 hour walk.
Oddly, I haven't seen hide nor feather of Indigo Buntings in my
neighborhood yet this spring. They're usually in full throat in my
yard by now.
