VA Birders,
Please forgive this personal e-mail to allow me to tell those that are
interested that I have accepted a position as an avian conservation
biologist with the Gulf Coast Bird Observatory in Lake Jackson, Texas.
Therefore, I will be moving to Texas in mid-June. I had hoped to find a
job in Virginia but nothing materialized and the position in Texas is
just what I was looking for. I will be working on conservation efforts
for birds along the Texas Coast, especially neotropical migrants that
have to make that difficult Gulf crossing. I was born and raised in
Texas so this is a move back to my roots. I am very excited about the
job and being close to my relatives again, but I will miss all the good
friends I have here in Virginia. I plan to remain as VARCOM secretary
until the end of the year so if you see a review species, you'll still
be hearing from me!
