Birders,
Hooray, hooray! It's the first of May!
Huntley was delightful and most interesting this morning. NORTHERN
WATERTHRUSH and ACADIAN
FLYCATCHER were FOY for me. Both singing and looking loverly. Other
species of note; YB CUCKOO,
GC FLYCATCHER, 4 VIREOS, RE, YT, BH and WE; BAK SWALLOW (2), HOUSE WREN.
Shorebirds included (1) SPOTTED, 3 LEAST, 2 SEMI-PALMS; 1 SEM-PALM
PLOVER;KILLDEER,
both YELLOWLEGS and absolutely more SOLITARIES than I've ever seen 100 + !!!
Also cluttering up the beginning of the boardwalk (mostly) were several
hundred WHITE-THROATED
SPARROWS. SWAMP SPARROWS were fairly numerous, too.
A rather good day,
Bev Leeuwenburg
