Hello all,
Tonight, around 6:30, we stopped at the community natural area along Riverside
Parkway in Loudoun County.
Right after starting our walk, we had nice, long looks at upwards of 10
BOBOLINKS moving around the grassy area east of the trail.
Also, we had good looks at several EASTERN MEADOWLARKS, especially when one of
them would perch on top of small cedars in the same area.
This community natural area can be reached by taking Route 7 west towards
Leesburg. Just after passing the junction with Route 28, the first right turn
is onto George Washington Boulevard, then go several blocks to a right turn on
Riverside Parkway and go to the end and turn right into the parking lot. This
natural area is between Riverside Parkway and Broad Run. It is a nice, mixed
habitat area of open fields, wetlands, and edge forest along Broad Run and
includes a network of trails.
