Hello, birders.

I birded in the rain yesterday at Great Falls. I had
a pretty good day despite the weather. Most of the
usual migrants and residents of this park in late
April were present, with a few extras. I covered most
of the park, from the mouth of Difficult Run to near
the Riverbend Park line. Some species seen/heard.

-RED-BREASTED MERGANSER, 3 females on the water,
upriver from the Visitor Center

-lots of swallows. The only species that is
guaranteed at the park this time of year is
Rough-winged. I had a few flocks of swallows, one of
which numbered at least 50 birds. Most were flying
over the river, catching insects. Species represented
were BARN, P. MARTIN, ROUGH-WINGED, TREE and CLIFF (1
only).

-warblers - Most (80+) were YELLOW-RUMPS. Also seen
and heard - NO. PARULA, B.T. BLUE, B.T. GREEN, PINE,
B&W, AM. REDSTART, W-EATING, OVENBIRD, LA.
WATERTHRUSH, NO. WATERTHRUSH, COM. YELLOWTHROAT

WHITE-THR. SPARROWS are still around.
