[va-bird] Occoquan: Sunday morning

This morning at Occoquan:
Killdeer (in and around parking lot)
Solitary Sandpiper (in pool of water in field near parking lot)
Yellow Warblers
Prothonotary Warbler
Palm Warblers
White-throated Sparrows
Gray Catbird
Spotted Sandpipers
Bald Eagle
unidentified Accipter
Chimney Swifts
Tree Swallows
Blue-gray Gnatcatchers
American Goldfinch
Fish Crow
Double-crested Cormorants
(I've undoubtedly forgotten some things and didn't recognize others).
Perhaps the most interesting thing occurred while I was walking back
along Easy Road (Lane, whatever) to the parking lot. I heard a rail
barking on the left-hand side, quite close, and as I was trying to spot
it, another rail started barking on the other side, at a tempo about 50%
faster. They were obviously the same species, and when I got home I
listened to rail calls with Thayer's Birding Software.I'm convinced that
they both were CLAPPER RAILS. There was no pattern to the calls, just a
repetitive raspy bark.
A few pictures of other species can be seen at
