[va-bird] Harrison Rd. Update 5/6/04 (Fauquier Cty)
- From: Dendroica@xxxxxxx

- Date: Thu, 6 May 2004 15:08:59 EDT
An hour vigil this morning, Thursday, May 6, starting at 8:10 AM, produced no
UPLAND SANDPIPER. A possible reason is that there was heavy truck/earth
moving activity in the pasture and near the lake west of the fence on which Sue
Heath reported the sandpiper had perched. I also checked again about 1 PM on
my
way back from the Thompson Preserve and failed to find it.
But across the road, there were about 30 BOBOLINKS in the grassy meadow, as
well as a SOLITARY SANDPIPER in a wet depression close to the road. EASTERN
KINGBIRDS, TREE SWALLOWS, EASTERN BLUEBIRDS, EASTERN MEADOWLARKS, SAVANNAH
SPARROWS (2), assorted blackbirds, doves, etc., were also present.
