[va-bird] Shorebirds and Hooded Merganser in Halifax Co

Greetings to all:
On Wednesday May 4, 2004, I found the following shorebirds at the Edmund's
Dairy Farm on Hwy 360:
Spotted Sandpiper - 2
Solitary Sandpiper - 2
At the Banister River WMA on St Rd 716 a single female Hooded Merganser was
swimming up the creek just past the Banister River. I have seen female with
chicks in this area several years ago and wonder if that they are nesting again.
