Susan Hubbard, Margaret Mitchell and I birded the grounds of the Hermitage
Foundation Museum in Norfolk today. The highlight was a lovely SUMMER TANAGER,
who gave us numerous good looks, flitting around the tall trees near the
playground. Other good birds were: RED-HEADED WOODPECKER, BLACK & WHITE
WARBLER,
COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, RED-EYED VIREO, GREAT-CRESTED FLYCATCHER, YELLOW-CROWNED
NIGHT HERON, and lots of BROWN THRASHERS AND CATBIRDS.
