[va-bird] Summer Tanager? (Alexandria)

Hello all,
This chilly morning I waited patiently for anything exciting in the
backwoods behind my townhouse and I think my waiting paid off. While the
warblers don't seem to be showing themselves lately, I think I might have
seen a bright red, SUMMER TANAGER.
It sat at the top of a tree (I was able to climb a little hill to get a
much more level view of it) and I watched it for quite some time sing a 6
syllabled song. I kept assuming it was a Scarlet Tanager, but I really
couldn't see any prominent black patches on its wings. The wings appeared
to vary from the red color, but not by turning jet black. I've never seen
a SUMMER TANAGER before - is it safe to assume that I may have?
It helped pep me up for the Spring Migration I feel as though I missed.
We spent 10 days in the Netherlands (to get in the peak tulip season), but
ended up missing good birding in VA to do so. I did manage to see my
1st-50th Great Crested Grebe though (for someone with my name, it is
terribly exciting!).
