[va-bird] Re: Horseshoe Crabs and shorebirds

All,
A lot of folks answered my request for info on Horseshoe Crabs and
Shorebirds. I wanted to write and give thanks to all who took the time to
respond. Also
another VA birder emailed asking for the results of this querry so I will
perhaps try to add some attachments but I am not certain you are allowed to do
this on VA bird. IF the Attachments attach not .... then the general sense I
got
was that the peak time for Crabs and shorebirds was likely to be sometime
towards the end of May and/or beginning of June. New Moon and Full Moon and
water
temperature seem to all play a part in the timing of this event. Also it
isn't like every beach will have shorebirds galore but rather it can be 1000s
at
one place and little or nothing at the next. These are just general
impressions and they may not represent an accurate picture of the situation but
it my
best guess at this point.
Here some web sites that might prove useful as well.
