[va-bird] Upland Sandpiper in Fauquier Cty, Thompson WMA warblers

At about 9:45 or so this morning there was an Upland Sandpiper on the north
side of Harrison Rd in Fauquier County. To get there, take Rte 66 to the Old
Tavern Exit, go south a quarter mile or so and make a right onto Harrison Rd.
The bird was in the first field on the right (where Sue Heath reported the
Bobolinks a few days ago, that I couldn't find this morning). Go to the end of
the field, where there is a fence that separates the field from the pasture
where the pond is. The sandpiper was walking near the fence and on the mound
that makes up the western end of the field.
Before finding this bird, I went to Thompson WMA, which was alive with plenty
of singing birds. I walked along the Trillium Trail, which is close to the
first parking area on Freezeland Rd after it becomes an unpaved road. I heard
and got great looks at Cerulean, Hooded and Worm-eating Warblers, American
Redstarts, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks and Scarlet Tanagers. I heard a Kentucky
Warbler but it never appeared out of the understory. A Common Raven called from
the top of the trail.
