VA-birders,
Below is the species list (as I received it) from the VSO Field Trips
over the weekend. Some of the highlights include:
* N.Goshawk - observed at Jarman Gap on Saturday, 3 May '03
* Swallow-tailed Kite - observed at Ivy Creek on Friday, 2 May '03
* Mississippi Kite (possible) - observed at Observatory Hill ? on
Saturday, 2 May '03
* 29 species of warblers (if I counted correctly)
* 5 vireo species
On behalf of the Virginia Society of Ornithology and all of its members,
special thanks go out to all of the field trip leaders and annual meeting
organizers. John Zimmerman, President of the Monticello Bird Club, told
me that everyone else did all of the work, but we also appreciate his
efforts to bring all of the right people together to make it happen.
Thank you Monticello Bird Club!!!
Larry Lynch
