All,
I had an unusual Red-tail at the lower entrance to Richard Wildlife Refuge
off of Leeds Mannor Road. This is the parking lot closest to Rt 55 and also
the Naked Mountain Vineyard.
The bird showed solid dark underwing coverts. Only flight feathers were
light. They were finely barred. Tail was finely barred as in immature
Red-tail. No dark subterminal band. Also of note was that the bird appeared
to have 3 missing feathers one from each wing and one from the tail.
Also seen in same area:
Broad-wing -Adult
Coopers Hawk-Adult
Chat (Heard)
Blue-wing W (Heard)
Along the Trillium trail :
Cerulean's - ~5
Hooded- several
Redstarts
Scarlet Tanagers-3
