The pools near the lower entrance became alive at 3:00PM. Seen in the pools at
the same time were scarlet tanager, *Baltimore oriole, black-and-white warbler,
black-throated blue (male), yellow-rump warblers and Swainson's thrush. Seen
in the same location were bathing wb nuthatch, common yellowthroat, catbird,
cowbird, grackle, blue-headed vireo, titmouse, and chickadee.
Additional birds bathing in the shallow overhung pools further upstream were
indigo bunting, goldfinch, cardinal, black-throated blue (female) and
*blackpoll warbler.
Also seen in the park were red-eyed vireo, *yellow-billed cuckoo, downy, hairy
and red-bellied woodpeckers
Heard were wood thrush, northern parula and black-throated green warbler.
(* my first sightings of the year in this park)
