Report for Thursday, May 1
Observatory Hill (O-Hill), Charlottesville

Checked out O-Hill bright and early this morning. Actually, it wasn't very
bright with cloudy skies and fog. However, several individuals ventured up
to the top of the hill to check things out. Some of the highlights:

Brown Thrasher
Scarlet Tanager
Ruby-crowned Kinglet (several)
Blue-headed Vireo
Nashville Warbler (kept hearing it sing only few feet away; finally found
it with several close ups; a bright little chap)
Cape May Warbler
Black and White Warbler
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Black-throated Green Warbler
Blue-winged Warbler
Bay-breasted Warbler
Chestnut-sided Warbler
Northern Parula
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Palm Warbler
Worm-eating Warbler
American Redstart

Alder Flycatcher, obviously passing through. Calling very close to road
and then flew low over the van; not the sneezy fitz-bew of the Willow
Flycatcher or the peet-sa of the Acadian.

Looks like great weather for this weekend's VSO spring meeting sponsored by
Monticello Bird Club being held in Charlottesville. Hope to see you there!
