Had to drop off my VA tax return extension at the Merrifield
postoffice tonight so I decided to check for Common Nighthawks at the
Gallows Rd nocturnal feeding area(one had already been reported in Culpeper
on 4-29).
Watched from 2045-2100. One finally showed up and was still feeding over
the buildings when I left. Hard to believe that it has been almost 7 months
since I had last seen one here.
The best find of the evening was 2 Great Egrets flying high first the
the south then to the northeast.
