[va-bird] Golden-winged Warbler in Charlottesville

Yesterday afternoon, Robyn Kells and I found a male golden-winged warbler=
on Stribling Avenue in Charlottesville (actually Albemarle County, but on=
ly
by about 100 feet!). This section of Stribling runs through a fairly wet
area with some large deciduous trees between the Southern Railway and UVA=
's
Fontaine Research Park. The area often has migratory warblers in the spri=
ng,
as well as many other species. Yesterday there were also yellow and black=
-throated
green warblers, redstarts, parulas, etc.
To get to Stribling (or at least this section of it), take the US29/US250=
Bypass around the west side of Charlottesville to the Fontaine Ave (US 29=
Business) exit. (This exit is just north of I-64 exit 118B). Head east on=
Fontaine Ave. Just past the first traffic light (Fontaine Research Park),=
a small gravel road (Route 782) heads downhill to the right. The warbler
was found about 0.25 miles from Fontaine Ave., where 782 bends to the rig=
ht
(west).
