Just wanted to send out a reminder and invitation to:
Birding Loudoun County, Saturday, May 11, 2002

On Saturday, May 11 the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy will celebrate
International Migratory Bird Day with a series of bird walks and bird counts
all over Loudoun County. All birders, new and experienced, are welcome.

We plan to hold at least five different bird walks scheduled to begin at 8:00
a.m. (counters are welcome to start earlier), and if there is interest we will
do more walks/counts. Some of the leaders of the following walks will be John
Drummond, Jack Hugus, John Chambless, Joe Coleman, Kurt Gaskill, Edna Aaron,
Bruce Hill, Phil Daley, Tom Bjorkman, Jon Little, Alex Merritt and Mary Alice
Koeneke:

a.. Banshee Reeks in central Loudoun County near Oatlands Plantation
b.. Horsepen Preserve in eastern Loudoun County adjacent to Algonkian
Regional Park
c.. Balls Bluff Regional Park along the Potomac and on the eastern edge of
Leesburg
d.. Morven Park immediately to the west of Leesburg and along the Catoctin
Ridge
e.. Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship near Harpers Ferry.
If we can find leaders and there is interest we will also do walks on the
Appalachian Trail, at Beaverdam Reservoir and Brambleton, and driving trips
around Lucketts and Bluemont. If someone wants to do another area, either with
a group or alone, we will be thrilled.

If you are interested in helping out/joining us in any way please contact me at
jandkcoleman@xxxxxxxxx or 540-554-2542.
