Hello all
Today I started my vacation & I started off by going to the Houff's for more
pics of the Harris's Sparrow . As I send this out my pics are being developed .
Hope they come out because this bird is in full adult plumage . After that I
headed back to Staunton to see what is on Bells Lane . To my surprise I had at
least 6 male Bobolink singing in the fields . Also on the pondsthere were Blue
-- Winged Teal , Greater & Lesser Yellowlegs , Solitary & Spotted Sandpiper ,
Am. Wigeon , Rudy Duck , Am. Coot . Plus in the trees & ground surrounding the
trees were about 100 + Goldfinch. After Bells Lane I went to my property to
check things out . Here I had a Wood Thrush carrying nest material , found a
Turkey Vulture's nest with 2 eggs & the Cooper's Hawk is still on the nest.
Happy birding to all & may the birds be with you . Allen Larner
