Our first RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD arrived at 3:45 p.m. today (one day earlier
than our record). A beautiful male.
Other birds at our place now are;
Nesting RED-SHOULDERED HAWK, BROWN THRASHER, BLUEBIRD, PILEATED WOODPECKER.
CAROLINA CHICADEE and TUFTED TITMOUSE are pecking cotton off bolls we save for
them.
A LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH was heard a few days ago but did not stay.
DOWNY and HAIRY WOODPECKERS, FLICKERS and Y B SAPSUCKERS.
PINE, YELLOW RUMP and PARULA WARBLERS.
WHITE-THROATED and CHIPPING SPARROWS.
JUNCO, GOLDFINCH, ROBIN, PHOEBE, CARDINAL, HOUSE FINCH, WHITE-BREASTED
NUTHATCH, CAROLINA WREN, MOURNING DOVE, AMERICAN and FISH CROW, TURKEY VULTURE
and BLACK VULTURE.
Other occasional flyovers are WILD TURKEY and BALD EAGLE.
There is an occasional G B HERON in our stream.
Yesterday we heard a COMMON LOON flying over.
Last and definitely least are BROWN-HEADED COWBIRDS.
ENJOY SPRING

P S : While typing this, a LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH began singing over the stream.
