As a volunteer at Huntley Meadows Park in Alexandria , VA, I would like to  
welcome all of you to our annual event- Wetlands Awareness Day, on Sunday, May 
6  from noon to 3 pm.  This is a great family event and specific to this  
group's interests we will be featuring:
 
Naturalists on the boardwalk with spotting scopes to point out annual  
migrants as well as our year-round inhabitants.  This is the perfect time  of 
year 
for a great variety of species.
 
Area experts will have a variety of non-releasable birds of prey . For  years 
, they have introduced us to close-up looks at different kinds of local  
hawks and owls, for example.
 
For families with young children there will be an entire "games" area where  
kids learn about the environment while having fun.
 
Live music and much more!
