[va-bird] bird song ID question: similar to White-Throated Sparrow?

Hi everyone,

At Burke Lake on Saturday, and at our home in Fairfax today, I heard a
song very similar to a White-Throated Sparrow. The song was identical
between the two locations: a high whistle, but just two notes, the
second one a whole step lower than the first (like "la-sol"). I thought
the standard W-T Sparrow was at least 3 notes (the 2nd and 3rd on the
same pitch and a bit faster than the first, like "laaa-sol-sol").

All of the songs we heard were just 2 notes. Also, they were quite
louder, and slightly sharper, than the thin, wistful whistle I recall
for White-Throated.

Is there another common bird with a song quite like the White-Throated,
but just 2 notes? Or is this 2-note song a common variation for
White-Throated Sparrows?

Thanks!!
