[va-bird] Re: Barn Swallow

I saw my first-ever tree swallows yesterday,
thinking at first that they were the barn
swallows that nest in my shed. There was at
least one barn swallow in the group, but most
were the tree swallows.
I do have a question, though. A couple of the TS
were very interested in my bluebird boxes, both
of which have bluebird pairs and nests in them.
They didn't actually go inside--I'm hoping
they're too big--but one of them clung to the
entrance hole for a long time and kept sticking
its head in. I got very close--within about five
feet--which didn't seem to bother it at all; it
just kept sticking its head in and then turning
to look at me.
Do I need to worry about the bluebirds, or was
this just an inquisitive TS? I've never put up
birdhouses before...
Thanks,
Grace
