Hi All.
I had a early morning Dental appointment in North Carolina, that didn't take
as long as I expected. I had time to do a little birding on the way back. First
stop Was Stumpy Lake golf course in Virginia Beach, where I found a female
Anhinga. There were lot of Tree Swallows flying over the lake. There was a pair
of Barn Swallows starting to nest in dead tree beeline club house. Also had
Bald Eagle and Osprey. Pine Warblers, Brown Headed
Nuthatch, Common Yellow throat, and Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
There were Reddish Egret at the Whitehurst Tract in Virginia Beach today.
They were also about 50 Glossy Ibis, lots of Snowy Egrets, Cattle egrets,
Snowy Egrets & many Great Egrets, Great Blue Herons. There were 6 Little Blue
Herons. They were in a partially flooded field & easily scoped from the road.
I also did a short walk about and
Had Blue Winged teal and Hooded Mergansers, Wood Duck 1-Snipe, Bald Eagle,
Northern Harrier. Another Anhinga. Meadowlarks, Savannah Sparrows, Song Sparrow
. I also had a quick look at a sparrow I believe to be a Vesper by all the
white in the tail.
