[va-bird] LA Waterthrush and Pine Warbler at Monticello Park, Alexandria

A few birders have been keeping an eye on Monticello Park in
Alexandria, trying to catch the very first spring migrants. The first
Eastern Phoebe showed up on March 17 and numbers have been as high as 5
since then. Today, the first Pine Warbler and Louisiana Waterthrush
were spotted by Tom Albright. I missed the Pine by about a half hour,
but was on hand for the LA Waterthrush. The show there should get
better during April and peak in early May.

Monticello Park is on Beverly Drive, a block from the intersection with
Russell Road.
