[va-bird] Burke Lake Loons

VA Birders,
Inspired by Kurt Gaskill's reported concentration of Common Loons on
Burke Lake, I stopped there this morning on my way to work. Pressed for
time and with a discouraging wind-chill, I only scanned the Lake for a
few minutes from the boat rental concession stand. Easily counted 25
Common Loons among the white-caps. Also saw 5 Ruddy Ducks, a
Pied-billed Grebe, a Great Blue Heron and the adult Lesser Black-backed
Gull in breeding plumage obligingly standing next to two third-year
Herring Gulls.
