VA Birders,
Today on the Mountain Top Golf Course, here in Buchanan County, the first
two Yellow-throated Warblers of the season for me were seen, and two
Black-throated Greens were heard. When I returned home a Blue-headed Vireo
was singing in the top of one of the apple trees, and a Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher was working the top of one of the maple trees.
Meanwhile, a pair of Carolina Wrens now have 4 eggs in their nest in one end
of my overturned canoe, and a pair of House Finches are busy constructing a
nest in the Trumpet Honeysuckle Vine at the back of the house.
Enjoy the birds,
Roger Mayhorn
