All,
I found a few new arrivals in Fauquier County when I did my waterfowl
survey today. There was a SPOTTED SANDPIPER at Lake Manassas (Prince
William County), a singing WHITE-EYED VIREO at Clifton Farm, a GREEN
HERON at Airlie and 3 VESPER SPARROWS in the field by the Harrison Road
lake. Waterfowl numbers are way down with a few American Wigeon,
Gadwall, Ring-necked Ducks and Bufflehead hanging around. There were 7
Northern Shovelers at the lake on Bellvoir Road (near the Harrison Road
lake). Double-crested Cormorants are everywhere!
