[va-bird] Gunston Cove and Accotink Bay

We birded Accotink Bay and Gunston Cove from the Ft. Belvoir (east) side for 
about one hour this morning.

Observation point:  at the edge of Gunston Cove, south of the dilapidated pier 
near the Fuel Cell Research facility.
Osprey (2, one being attacked by American Crows)
American Crow 
American Robin
Dark-eyed Junco
Great Blue Heron
Lesser Scaup (many)
American Coot (at least 100)
Ring-necked Duck 
Bald Eagle (5)
Common Merganser (4)
Canvasback Duck (2)
Canada Goose
Killdeer (1)
Blue Jay
Northern Flicker

Observation point:  the south end of Accotink Bay.
A large raft of Lesser Scaup, perhaps 1000, mostly in Gunston Cove.  Mixed in 
were American Coots, Bufflehead, Ruddy Ducks, Common Mergansers, and gulls.

Observation points:  along the east edge of Accotink Bay.

Ruddy Duck (90)
Common Merganser (48)
Ring-billed Gull
Herring Gull
Osprey (6)
Black Ducks (72)

Black Vulture (2)
Wood Duck (6)
Mallard (2)
Song Sparrow

We also saw three Red-tailed Hawks on the periphery of Ft. Belvoir.
