First, let me thank all of you that so kindly offered advice to my raptor id
question.  I appreciate the information as well as the encouragement.
Secondly, I would like to announce that, in spite of the steady snowfall
here in Washingon, DC, the Northern Mockingbird (my favorite bird and the
one that sparked my interest in birding) directly behind my office decided
to start practicing his repertoire this morning.  It was nice to hear and
surely a sign of more to come.
