[va-bird] Some Fauquier miscellany, 8 March

Hola,
I spent an hour or so before work this morning birding a couple locations
near Warrenton, in Fauquier County, mostly focused on waterfowl. Birds found
at the first location:
Canada Goose 30
Trumpeter Swan 1; this neck-collared bird was banded in Ohio, part of
the reintroduction program going on there. This bird was first noticed at
Airlie 28 Nov; it's the second Ohio bird found in Fauquier.
Tundra Swan 33
American Black Duck 2
Mallard 2
Green-winged Teal 1 drake
Ring-necked Duck 77; 64 drakes, 13 hens
Lesser Scaup 2, both drakes.
Bufflehead 24,
Common Merganser 6
Ruddy Duck 10
Bald Eagle 2; one on nest.
Red-shouldered Hawk 2
Red-tailed Hawk 1
American Kestrel 1
Mourning Dove 6
Great Horned Owl 1; calling at eight-thirty AM.
Red-bellied Woodpecker 2
Downy Woodpecker 2
Northern Flicker 2
American Crow 12
Fish Crow 24
Carolina Chickadee 3
Tufted Titmouse 1
White-breasted Nuthatch 1
Carolina Wren 1
Golden-crowned Kinglet 1
Eastern Bluebird 15
American Robin 3
Northern Mockingbird 24
European Starling 7
Cedar Waxwing 9
American Tree Sparrow 13
Field Sparrow 7
Song Sparrow 30
White-throated Sparrow 5
Dark-eyed Junco 33
