I believe someone recently posted a request on sightings of Tree Swallow.
Yesterday while on a quick trip to Hog Island we stopped at Harrison Lake
National Fish Hatchery (located on SR 658/Kimages Road just off of Route 5
and #CPL04 on Plantation Loop of VDGIF Birding & Wildlife Trail.
Only waterfowl within easy viewing was a pair of Pied-billed Grebe.
Scanning the bright sky I discovered a large flock of 50+ American Tree
Swallow swarming over the lake. What's interesting is we found none at Hog
Island.
