Yesterday (Mar 4) while driving a small gravel road that runs along the N. Fork
Holston River from W. Carters Valley in Hawkins County, TN, to Yuma, VA, I saw
two Double-crested Cormorant's flying up the river towards Yuma in Scott Co.,
VA. Although these birds are common permanent residents down near the
confluence of the N. and S. Fork Holston Rivers at Kingsport, I have rarely
seen them this far up the N. Fork.
