[va-bird] Leucistic Raven - Loudoun County

Always on the lookout for reasons to deviate from my daily work
schedule (usually bird related), I was lucky enough to stumble across
what I thought initially to be a perched dark buteo on the E side of
Beaverdam Reservoir (at the intersection of Belmont Ridge & Truro
Parish Rds, just W of Ashburn).
After a quick U turn and a quick glance through bins, the bird
revealed itself as a leucistic CORA. Cast in a rich chocolatey-brown
with silvery overtones, the creature was quite striking. I had just
gotten the scope and camera set up as the bird took flight W toward the
reservoir; camera shy I guess.
Due to the proximity of Craig Tumers previous sighting of the same, I
imagine it could be the same bird (or a relative?) - I'm not clear on
whether leucism is a shared genetic trait, or merely a rare
aberration...
