Hello VA-Birders,
I took a trip to Remington in Fauquier County today and saw many Horned Larks,
as
well as more than two dozen Eastern Meadowlarks. Later in Nokesville I finally
caught up with the Brewer's Blackbirds after five tries, two females and two
males
that extracted themselves from the mixed flock of Red-winged Blackbirds,
Starlings,
and Cowbirds and briefly alighted in a tree offering great views. The birds
were
not in their "usual" place across from the church, but were at the intersection
of Aden and Fleetwood Roads across from the store. There were lots more
White-crowned
Sparrows than I usually see along the road between that intersection and Park
Gate
Road.
A little while ago I returned from Creagerstown, MD and was able to see the
Lappie
with the crowd of onlookers from various places. It's almost more interesting
to
see the birders who show up to these spectacles than the bird itself!!
